  • Former US Open champion Lucas Glover's wife arrested on domestic violence charges

Krista Glover was arrested Saturday night at a rental house and taken to St. Johns County Jail before being released on $2,500 bond Sunday. Glover shot a 78 on Saturday, missing the 54-hole cut to advance to Sunday - and that appears to be exactly what prompted the incident.

She was "screaming while forcefully kicking the rear driver's side door", during her arrest, according to the police report.

The police report also said that Krista Glover attempted to flee the scene after her arrest and that she kicked a door of a police auto so hard it caused the door to "visibly separate from the cell of the door frame". Police noted that Krista resisted arrest and she attempted to flea from her handcuffs. After previously saying he would sign a sworn affidavit, the three-time Tour victor then "refused" to do so, and he claimed he "was not fighting with Krista" but was injured during the altercation between her and his mother.

Police reportedly saw abrasions and other injuries on Hershey Glover when they arrived to arrest Krista Glover. Neither Lucas or his mother required attention from paramedics. While escorting her to a patrol auto, she became combative and tried to separate herself from the deputy, the arrest report said. Once inside, she allegedly "began screaming while forcefully kicking the rear driver's side door", causing damage to the auto.

Lucas, the report says, told deputies his wife gets violent every time he doesn't play well in a major PGA tournament.

Glover confirmed Monday on Twitter that an "argument" had occurred, saying, "Everyone is fine".

Europe steps up bid to salvage Iran accord ditched by Trump
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov meets with his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif in Moscow on May 14, 2018. On May 8, President Donald Trump violated the terms of the JCPOA by withdrawing from the accord.

Police officials noted in the report that Krista resisted them, refusing to get in the squad auto by "blocking herself from sitting down".

She started an altercation with him that day, according to the report, and she started it after allegedly drinking all day and in front of their kids and his mother, the document said. He says he is comfortable the judicial system will be able to clear his wife.

"Wait till the tour (PGA) hears about this", she yelled, according to the report cited in The Mail.

Lucas Glover asked fans to respect his family's privacy "as we work through this situation".

"We are aware of the situation, and Lucas informed us of his statement, which has since been posted to his Twitter account." the Tour said in a statement.

The couple got married in 2012 and has one child together.
