Fox is ending its famous Tuesday night comedy block after eight years and is replacing it with a sitcom lineup on Friday nights that will be anchored by Tim Allen's Last Man Standing - freshly revived after being canceled by ABC in 2017. Andy Samberg, meanwhile, celebrated the news on stage at NBC's morning presentation at Radio City Music Hall. The network needed to find the right spot for it, she said.

Allen tweeted news of the Fox reboot on May 11. "And we have been talking to Tim through the year".

LA to Vegas is the only single-camera comedy left standing at the network after a bloodbath of cuts last week, including the cancellation of The Mick, The Last Man on Earth, and Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

Allen, a conservative who has voiced his support for Trump, starred as Mike Baxter, who is also politically conservative on the show.

"We were emboldened by 'Roseanne, '" she explained.

Alonso: Top six still in 'another league'
Alonso reiterated his view that the vehicle he is racing this weekend should have been available for the start of the season in Australia.

"And that certainly made us think that this is a really good opportunity, that for broadcast viewers a beloved star in a really amusing multi-cam that has, again, a little bit easier entry point than a serialized comedy was a good idea. You go, 'Yeah that's not a bad look at one right there.' That's a disgusting thing I just brought up". The drama stars Rachelle Lefevre ("Under the Dome", "A Gifted Man"), Vincent Kartheiser ("Mad Men"), Russell Hornsby ("Seven Seconds", "Grimm"), Brian d'Arcy James ("13 Reasons Why", "Spotlight") and Tony Award victor Nikki M. James ("BrainDead", "The Good Wife", "The Book of Mormon").

Despite the comparisons to Roseanne, Newman insists that Allen's conservative politics will not factor into the show.

Are you excited Last Man Standing is coming back to television? "Oh, shit, I said 'ass'".

In a conference call with reporters Monday morning, Fox Television Chairmen and CEOs Gary Newman and Dana Walden said they had been trying to find a place on their schedule for the multi-camera sitcom since it was canceled by ABC a year ago, and the success of ABC's Roseanne reboot convinced them that there was no time like the present to do so. That rumor proved to be true. We ordered it throughout five seasons. Making the bold move to bring "Last Man Standing" to Fox. Though the NBC show's rating gave them pause this year, Fox's original interest in the show didn't have anything to do with Roseanne.

It will be joined by "The Cool Kids" and "Hell's Kitchen" to make up the network's new Friday night lineup. The show never really delved deeply into political views. Also, Last Man Standing is easier for new viewers to follow than Brooklyn Nine-Nine's serialized comedy. We kind of assumed it would. "We knew there were conversations that were going on with other platforms and I'm really happy for the whole team".
