  • Kansas legend Nick Collison retires from National Basketball Association after 15 seasons

After 15 years in the National Basketball Association, spread over two cities - Seattle and Oklahoma City, but all with the same franchise - Nick Collison announced his retirement on Thursday night, writing a first person reflective piece for ESPN.

Collison, 37, entered the league in the famed 2003 draft class along with LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, selected 12th overall by the Seattle SuperSonics.

The 6-foot-10 Collison did not give a reason for his retirement.

Collison's best statistical season came in 2007-08, when he recorded 9.8 points and 9.4 rebounds per game for a terrible Sonics team that went 20-62. "The Thunder will forever be a better organization because he was here", Bennett said. As a result, Collison played in 91 playoff games, including the 2012 NBA Finals against the Heat.

Mourinho: I expect Pogba to stay
If Lukaku can make it back in time, United will have a real chance to match Arsenal for the most FA Cup trophies. Another man should be to work alongside him, whether that would be the sporting director or someone else.

Collison became a fan favorite during his time with the Thunder organization and will ultimately go down as one of the most respected players in the league. Only eight players have spent more years with a single franchise than Collison.

Collison started 177 of his 910 career regular-season games, averaging 5.9 points and 5.2 rebounds. He ranks fourth in Sonics/Thunder history in total rebounds, sixth in blocks, fifth in field goal percentage and ninth in minutes played.

He helped Kansas reach two-consecutive Final Fours (2002, 2003).

Collison spent four seasons at Kansas, where he was a consensus first-team All-American and won the 2003 NABC Player of the Year. His best season came in 2007-08, when he averaged 9.8 points and 9.4 rebounds in the a year ago before the Seattle SuperSonics relocated to Oklahoma City.
