Sixers Lose To Heat As Joel Embiid Expresses Frustration

  • Sixers grab 1-0 series lead over Heat in first playoff win in six years

Dwyane Wade turned in a vintage performance, scoring 28 points to end the 76ers' 17-game winning streak and lead the Miami Heat to a 113-103 Game 2 win over Philadelphia on Monday night and even the first-round playoff series.

The 36-year-old flashed the form of a three-team National Basketball Association champion with the Heat, not the journeyman who bounced around the last two seasons with forgettable stints in Chicago and Cleveland.

Wade's experience proved crucial throughout, inspiring a first-half fightback to wipe out the 76ers' early lead before shepherding Miami to the win in a nervy finale.

Olynyk had 26 points, seven rebounds and two assists for the visiting Heat in a 130-103 loss on Saturday.

"I just came in with an aggressive approach", Wade said afterwards.

You're not going to have to tell Dwyane twice...

"I love the stage". It's a chess game the Heat will have to play and that's what Smith was talking about when making this comparison. But instead of the lighthearted posts we've come to expect out of him, Embiid was furious on his Instagram Story.

Manchester City clinches 2017-18 Premier League title
The Citizens have been widely praised, with many calling them the best team in Europe this season. Plus, City need three more wins to better Chelsea's record of 30 Premier League wins in a season.

Internally, there is optimism that Embiid will return when the series is in Miami, though it's unclear if that will be for Game 3 on Thursday, according to sources.

The Sixers lost for the first time since March 13 to Indiana.

Still, the momentum was all with the Heat - Josh Richardson stepping up on both ends of the floor as his team kept their lead.

The Sixers trailed the Heat at halftime, 60-56, but outscored the Heat by 31 in the game's second half. The Sixers almost pulled off an epic comeback and rallied from 16 down to just two points late in the fourth.

Wade however had other ideas, grabbing a two-pointer before finding Johnson with a superb pass to make it 102-96.

Goran Dragic scored 20 points and James Johnson added 18 points for the Heat.

The defeat marks the Sixers' first loss since their March 13 defeat to the Indiana Pacers and despite previously going 9-0 without injured star center Joel Embiid, his absence was especially felt this game with the 24-year-old later expressing his frustration on Instagram, stating he was "f--g sick and exhausted of being babied". He wants to play in front of the fans.
