Amit Shah, PM Modi only non-animals in country, says Rahul Gandhi

  • A sign from above for Rahul

Congress president Rahul Gandhi has asserted even Prime Minister Narendra Modi might lose from Varanasi under a "united" opposition. This would be possible, Mr Gandhi said, "simply" because opposition unity was becoming a reality. "I foresee the ruling NDA coalition collapsing as never before", he predicted.

Gandhi, who is on a two-day weekend visit to poll-bound Karnataka, delighted fellow commuters by posing for selfies. His party has been long alleging that the deal of 36 Rafale fighter jets with the French government was finalized by the Bharatiya Janata Party-ruled Centre at a higher price than the previous deal for 126 medium multi-role combat aircraft (MMRCA) negotiated by the Congress led-United Progressive Alliance government.

On the other hand, accusing the BJP of trying to disturb the social harmony and vitiate the atmosphere in the country, Congress spokesperson Dwijendra Tripathi had said that party workers will hold fast in all districts of Uttar Pradesh on April 9 against the BJP's design to "create anarchy", PTI reported.

RSS leaders in Karnataka could not be reached for comment despite repeated attempts. The leader said, "The natural sort of political environment where there is a little bit of acrimony, but not hatred, needs to be restored". "We are fighting an idea that wants to destroy the culture of Bengaluru in the coming elections", Mr. Gandhi said at the grand culmination of Janaashirwada Yatre in Palace Grounds here.

Rahul Gandhi was in Karnataka's Tumkuru area for a road show as the elections in the state is really close. The problem in India is that the person doing the most hard work is not rewarded and the person doing the easiest work is rewarded.

United Nations seeks access to Syrians in eastern Ghouta's Douma
The buses are now waiting on the Harasta highway nearby for the militants to settle their dispute. Douma is a stronghold of the powerful Army of Islam rebel group.

Gandhi also pointed out that the only way a government can instill faith among the youth is by providing employment opportunities. "It's simple", Gandhi said at an informal media interaction.

Praising the efforts of the people of Bengaluru for making the city the second startup capital after Silicon Valley in the USA, Gandhi said: "We respect the services of each one of you - the rich, the poor, the men, and women. They're compromising national security by asking for details which should not be made public, by which I mean known to the enemy".

The leader also slammed PM Modi's dream bullet train project and claimed it was just a showpiece and poorly conceptualised.

However, this is not the first time Rahul Gandhi has attacked PM Modi over Rafale deal.
